Synopsis[]
Some video game franchises need to go away forever, and they just keep on coming back over and over again. The crew don't necessarily hate these games, but they do need to go away right now!
10. Angry Birds. Is Angry Birds really a good game? Yes. Does it deserve four apps that are virtually the same thing, a cartoon, a film, merchandise and a theme park attraction? Ye-No... Craig rants that Angry Birds is not the next Mario.
9. Dynasty Warriors. The player pushes X over and over and over. Dynasty Warriors was fun the first time, but we only needed the one. 7 have been made. Craig keeps on saying "over and over". Nick joins in.
8. Lego Series. It is a good thing that there are games for the non-Hardcore audience, but Craig doesn't understand the Lego series. Why? Why take a franchise game and make them into legos. How do you know a franchise has gone too far? Lego Rockband.
7. Call of Duty. Craig and Nick make trolling comments about Call of Duty. llololololol It's getting really old. Nick is indifferent to CoD, and only wants it to die so the internet shuts up about it! It is the cool thing to hate. Trolololololol!
6. Dragon Ball Z. Nick wanted a game made after his favorite show. After one or two cool ones, thanks to Nick, there has been at least a game every year. They all control the exact same and all follow the exact same story. Nick admits his mistake. Nick watched every episode as a kid and has no idea what the monster is on the screen is.
5. Dance Dance Revolution. They still make DDR? DDR was such a big hit because it was advertised as an exercise game. There are so many exercise games, that we don't know what to do with them. We don't have a need for plastic mats anymore, now that we have Kinect.
4. Kingdom Hearts. Kingdom Hearts was an enjoyable series that mixed Final Fantasy with Disney. Then they wanted to make the story complex, and now nobody knows what is going on. Square Enix doesn't know what is going on as there still isn't a Kingdom Hearts 3. Nick doesn't understand why Sora is so popular as a cosplay costume. The singing scene cannot be forgiven.
3. Craig loves arcade sports games. Then there is Madden. We aren't the target audience, but the problem is there is no alternative. Competition is what makes the market work, but EA has a monopoly. Craig works wrestling into the top 10 and is proud of himself.
2. Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy is one of the most beloved franchises in video games. What happened with the more recent games? The most recent game loved by fans was Final Fantasy X. That came out in 2001. If the future shows more of this, it might be best to end the series.
Craig and Nick recap. Nick now says "over and over and over", before interrupting with what happens in his games.
1. Halo 4. Nick lists films with a great trilogy that did not need a part 4 but was given a 4th anyway, which ruined it. Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean for example. The video game equivalent is Halo. Microsoft said "hey, this makes us a bunch of money, let's make some more." It's not the same, and the magic has gone. Nick gets a Weekend at Bernies reference in, and is proud. It doesn't matter how good the game will be, the fight was over in 2007!
