Sean is interviewing Nigel Lowrie, the Axe Murdering partner at Devolver Digital. They just saw Hotline Miami 2. Sean loved the first Hotline Miami game, and beat it three times on three different consoles! Sean asks what is different about it. It is a continuation of the first game. There are different points of views from different people.

Each character plays very differently. The point is to kill everybody in the room, but the narrative will be twisted and complex. It will wrap up at the end of the game. The second game will have a similar twist ending to the first game. The musicians from the first game have already started to make songs for the second game. Nigel has been listening to the new music on the plane to PAX.

They are looking for around the same number of chapters, and some replayability. There will be multiple ways of completing each stage, depending on the characters chosen. Nigel can't wait to see people playing it.

Bryan just saw Borderlands the Pre-Sequel, and explains that this odd "Pre-Sequel" title does make sense. There are some cool new features. It will take place on the moon, and there will be a jetpack move.

There is a move that the developers call a slam move, but the presenters have dubbed it a "butt stomp". Wilhelm was in Borderlands 2, ClapTrap is playable for the first time. Bryan wants Claptrap to have a bazooka.

An Interview with one of the Geniuses behind Jetgetters[]

This pre-alpha is one of the coolest things at PAX. Sean is talking to Alex Nichiporchik, the Tiny Build Games co-founder.

This game is being built right now. Players have to fly high in the air, and highjack each other's vehicles in midair. The game is inspired by Battlefield and Just Cause 2. When someone pops out of a jet, shoots someone, and then jump back into the jet, and combining that with a tether!

The game is essentially a sandbox. The goal is to always know where down is. A level is played inside a volcano, where there is erupting lava, and rocks falling down towards the player from above. You can't do that in a normal shooter game.

Sean describes it as a Star Fox with Team Fortress 2 and Just Cause vibe. The multiplayer will have classes. A class will shoot missiles which can be surfed on.

When Sean and Chad played, Chad launched a missile, which Sean rode and shot at other players from behind. It is possible to call other players to help out if the player misses their target.

Sean tells people to go to the Kickstarter, which was later cancelled, as they received an investment. Alex and Sean were happy from that!

Sean is interviewing Mike Boccieri, the Senior Producer of 2K Games. Sean loves how Evolve looks. Trying to get the game to be balanced is something that they feel only they could achieve. The game has co-op play and competitive gameplay.

If you don't get onto Goliath quickly, he starts evolving quickly. The gameplay is fast and varied, with different strategies that both teams can use. There are several different classes within the group team, and they need to work effectively to win.

The verticality is an extra element that separates it from similar games and add more variations.

Bryan and Sean have just finished playing Murdered: Soul Suspect. It is a little like L.A Noire and Ghost Trick. The paranormal aspect is going to make the game stand out.

The main character has to solve his own murder, by hopping into other people's bodies. The game is full of deviant people. Bryan wasn't expecting some of what he saw, and is looking forward to it.

Nosgoth may suck all your time away - PAX East 2014[]

Sean is interviewing Corey Davis, the design director at Psyonix.

Sean talks about Legacy of Kain, and discusses Nosgoth. It will be a team based shooter. It will play different than the series has been played before.

Left 4 Dead was a huge inspiration. The growling noises in Left 4 Dead added to the atmosphere. The vampire team has to be powerful in their own rights.

The humans are weaker than the vampires, but they want to give them a chance to react. The vampires will eat the humans to gain health, and the humans will get a station to heal themselves. They don't want a class to be required. Shrines can only be used once every few minutes to prevent against camping.

The pair are sitting on a throne. The Team Colorblind team accumulated some boxes during setup, and decided to create the throne to oversee the crowd at PAX. Sean says that this is the first interview he has done today with a VIP area, and he likes being able to look down on everyone.

There has been an overhaul with the enemies and weapons. The game responds better now, and there is a lot more things to do. They wanted the game to be done by now, but because the consoles needed to be finished at the same time, they were pushed back by two months.

They want to be on every console. There will even be an Oculus Rift version as well. The build looks the same as the TV version, but with a shifted camera. The player has to look around to see what is happening.

Sean is checking out Max Gentlemen with Jamie Sanchez and Ryan Wiemeyer for The Men Who Wear Many Hats. This game is insane. Ryan thinks it is pretty normal. The idea started from a spam email that said "Max Gentlemen", and they asked themselves what makes a Max Gentleman.

They combined Victorian era gentlemen with wrestlers! It spiraled into drinking beers and stacking hats. They show the arcade cabinet. They refurbished an arcade cabinet to become this cabinet. Sean wonders how the game will work on mobile devices. There will be buttons on the screen which will quickscroll. There are characters from indie titles in there such as Octodad. The game is pretty close to being done.

Sean is interviewing E McNeill, the game designer of Darknet. Darknet is on the Oculus Rift, and is a Hollywood hacker game. The player will be making money from performing hacking. There are different items (software), that allow the player to go inside a node and complete a puzzle.

Everything is procedurally generated. They plan to release when the Oculus Rift is released. Sean mentions the Hollywood movies from his childhood that this game reminds him of. McNeill hadn't seen those movies until after he started working on the game. After watching them, he used some of the ideas from the movie to add to the game.

Sean is interviewing Sam Farmer, the creator of Last Life. This was an interesting experience. You have to play as a character who has to solve his own murder. It is a point and click game.

People who like Action games will still like it. The game will be released episodically in 3 one hour long episodes. The game will have puzzle solving and play a little like The Walking Dead.

The Earth is destroyed, and most of humanity has gone. There are colonies on different planets. This reminds Sean of Tex Murphy, but it won't be as ham as that! They want the game on consoles, but there are no promises. Sam responded to a tweet two weeks ago looking for indies, and now he is here at PAX thanks to Double Fine.

They have worked towards his Kickstarter launch.

The game is a literal game van which travels around the country, interviewing indie developers, and making a game along the way. They show the tools that they use and show how making a game works. These three are all former Bioware developers.

They are visiting a lot of indies in the US and Canada. They went to Chicago to show off an interesting game featuring many indie games. They are currently building on their exposure. They are wondering whether to sell the game with the video.

Sean has stopped at Asger and Bo Strandby, who are game directors and level designers at Press Play. They are from Denmark. Project Totem is an Xbox one platformer, where the player controls two characters at the same time.

The game can be very fast paced, and also very slow paced at different parts. When designing a level, you have to think about everything that could go wrong, like leaving one totem behind. It has to be very tight. There has to be only one solution to allow the player to know that they have solved it.

Sean has played co-op with Bryan. It will be two player at the moment. As the game goes on, the worlds will look different, and have different colored totems. The Xbox One seemed like a good console to use for couch gaming. The players have to be within punching distance of each other!

Sean is joined by Tim Rogers, the Director of Action Button Entertainment. Sean wants to top his interview from last time they met. Tim doesn't like the colors being shown on Videoball, and changes them.

Nobody playing the game asked why the colors changed, because you should know which one you are. Some people have trouble because they are color blind. Sean has noticed the rings around the players weren't there. They were, but they weren't as obvious.

Sean has also noticed that there are more levels. There are 25 levels now. Tim likes Wing Jammers. Tim didn't want Videoball to have characters. Tim doesn't like people comparing this game to Air Hockey. Tim eats a Supreme Portein bar as he is being interviewed.

Sean asks for a code, but Tim said that Sean was already going to buy it! Sean is angry at himself for wasting an opportunity. Tim needs to go to the dentist.

Sean is with Chris Chung, the developer of Catlateral Damage. This game lets you be a cat. The inspiration for the game came from Chris living with cats growing up. The cats just knock things around, and Chris wanted to see what the cats see.

There are two modes. You get points when things hit the floor. Each object has a point value, and there are more points for hitting certain objects. There will be different houses with different rooms and cats.

Sean wants this game to have Oculus Rift support. The game got greenlit on Steam in eight days!

Players will move from floor to floor in each building before performing a task. Teams will have a certain playstyle. Jason talks about the items in the game.

Watch Dogs: Our Hands on Impressions![]

Marcus Beer, ScrewAttack's Special West Coast Correspondent is talking about Watch Dogs.

The game was announced a few years ago. The game was then delayed. Ubisoft allowed Marcus and some other people to play the game. He played a few different scenarios on a PS4 dev kit.

The anti-hero is not a nice guy, and he steals money off people. He gets hell-bent on revenge. The first few missions are fairly straightfoward. There are a lot of skills to master. Ubisoft have been clever in letting the player do whatever they want and level up.

There is an RPG-like element in the game. Using your phone in the game uses the phone's battery and becomes a key component of the game. The player can change from camera to camera, and it can get confusing. Soon, the player will be able to hack a substation. Marcus discusses a mission.

Marcus likes to avoid conflicts in games. Marcus hacked into a few cameras, while his character is outside playing with his phone. Marcus could plan out what he needed to do. He hacks into a guard's phone to get the code he needed, and then hacked into a server. He did it without firing a shot, getting shot at, or even trespassing.

You can infiltrate and take people out, but the player can experience multiple scenarios in many missions in the game.

The second section of the demo showed off the strategy of the game. Marcus walks through the scenario. The motorbikes are indestructible at the moment. The game is pretty finished now. Getting uses to switching weapons and controls can be tricky.

They also showed the companion app. Marcus discusses shooting at a helicopter. The game is attached to UPlay which can be annoying for players. Marcus was skeptical about the game, but he had a lot of fun with it.

Sean is with Evan Greenwood, the director of Free Lives. They have created BroForce. There are so many Bro characters in this game. The creators started the game by coming up with Bro puns. The game will be up to four players. You can kill your bros.

They wanted friendly fire to be turned down to the minimum. Getting to the helicopter is the goal, and Satan is waiting there. They want to work that into the story.
